"Restarting Tourism with Safety" Webinar
Hosting its first-ever webinar, Sabre is honoured to be invited by the Nepal Association of Tour & Travel Agents (NATTA) to speak at the panel discussion on “Restarting Tourism with Safety” on World Tourism Day, 27 September.
Rakesh Narayanan, VP, Asia Pacific, Travel Solutions Airline Sales and Sandeep Shrastri, Regional Director, South Asia, Travel Solutions Agency Sales, along with key leaders of Nepal including Mr Rajan Pokhrel, Director General of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, Mr Sunil Kumar Rumalla, President of United Federation of Travel Agents’ Association and Mr Dhanajay Regmi, CEO of Nepal Tourism Board discussed how the pandemic had affected tourism globally, and what it will take to resume travel in Nepal.
While the panelists concurred that the travel industry is going through its biggest challenge in history, Rakesh shared how the industry can be resilient by working within the challenges. Citing reports on the green shoots of recovery across many markets, the industry should plan for each stage of recovery and embrace technological solutions that will play a key role in enabling and accelerating recovery when borders open. Ultimately, airlines need to continue to place health and safety at the top of their agenda, they need to listen to changing traveller wants and continue to adopt technology to drive travel.
Sandeep supported with data from the APAC Travel Sentiment Survey carried out by Sabre in July, where it shows that there is pent-up demand for travel, and how when travellers do take their first trip following extensive periods of lockdown and border closures, they will want to make the most of every minute. Personalization has never been so important and Sabre is committed to ensure that its solutions and tools are putting our customers at the forefront of recovery by responding to new market demands and providing travel content that is personalized for each traveller.
